Red Bull Romaniacs 2010
The Red Bull Romaniacs Hard Enduro Rallye with amazing mountain climbs and downhills at the Carpathians Mountain areas, fantastic single trails. The now legendary debut of the Rally presents the prolog of the Red Bull Romaniacs, wherein competitors have to prove their endurance, riding skills and experience in front of thousands of fans, television crews and journalists. The stars of this sport will stand out in this extreme race within Sibiu’s town center – where artificial obstacles create an amazing motorcycle show. The unpredictable, as well as the contestants, who amaze with their abilities in extreme conditions, will keep the audience in a breathtaking trance throughout the entire race. In other words, the prologue of the Red Bull Romaniacs is the sum of all the ideas, experiences and the philosophies of this competition – a difficult contest, where only the best can win, but everyone has fun and can complete in it safely.
The four cross country stages took place at 27th June / Start & finish Sibiu, 28th June / Start Sibiu – finish in the city of Petrosani (overnight) 29th June / Start Petrosani – finish Sibiu, 30th June / Start & finish Sibiu – Award ceremony
The length of the track varies for every class, meaning 100km or 200km per day. The main challenges of the course are the technical parts, which lead through wood areas, where you may struggle over trees, rocks and rubble. Fuel stops are placed over distances of approximately 70 km, where contestants refuel their motorcycles and have the opportunity to refresh themselves with Red Bull energy drink and water.
The track is marked with banners, signs and colored markings, but to guarantee the safety of the contestants, they will have the official track of the contest loaded onto GPS devices. The markings and GPS devices aid navigation, road books and other expensive technical equipment are unnecessary. Every single Pro, expert single rider and team will have a rental minitracker.
The public can watch the progress of each rider in real time (live) on our website from anywhere in the world. There are specially designed spectator points for fans to bare witness to the struggle of the competitors in the toughest Hard Enduro Rally in the world.
